Welcome to the International High School

Presentation of the French College ,

(About the program)

Dear parents, dear future parents,

I have both the honor and the pleasure of directing the middle school portion of the Ardoise School Group.

When I arrive in August 2021, the objective that has been assigned to me is clear: to make this group of classes function strictly according to the rules of French education abroad.

It was therefore necessary to recruit a quality and competent teaching staff, which knows the teaching methods of the French system and works in strict compliance with the schedules and programs.

This approach involved the creation of coherent, balanced schedules, with 26 hours of classes per week for 1st cycle students, to which are added hours of personalized help and specific time slots for in-class homework.

The second grade class, with the arrival of new students from another system, was doubled, with a limited number of 20 students per class, to facilitate integration and adaptation to new teaching contents.

For the final year classes (1ère and Terminale), a wide choice of specialties, 7 in number, has been offered to allow each student to develop his or her talents in an education that is in line with his or her tastes and career choices.

It is now up to the students to work seriously and regularly, in order to pass in the best conditions to the next class and, for those who are in exam class, to have the best possible results, in order to benefit from an orientation that meets their expectations.

Finally, schooling in the French system requires parental involvementParents are the ones who must accompany their children in the learning and evaluation process. Parent representatives attend class councils, and meetings are held at the beginning of the year for each grade. Finally, the quarterly report cards are given to them in person and it is an opportunity for them to meet the teachers, which is always beneficial.

I wish you all an excellent school year 2022!

 the Principal

Jean-Luc RUOL

REGLEMENT INTERIEUR LYCEE INTERNATIONAL 2021-2022

Enrollment at Lycée international l'Ardoise implies full acceptance of and commitment to these rules by the student and his/her parents.

I- RULES OF OPERATION OF THE ESTABLISHMENT

ARTICLE 1 : Access to the establishment

Access to the school is restricted to students, their parents, staff and authorized visitors. Students with a green card are allowed out at lunchtime and at the end of classes.

Those with a red card will remain on the premises until the arrival of their parents or the adult authorized to pick them up.

If the green card is forgotten, the educational assistant will issue the student a day pass.

If the card is lost, the accountant will issue another card upon payment of the fee.

ARTICLE 2 : Timetable

Classes are held from Monday to Friday, according to the timetable distributed to students:

  • From 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • From 1:30 to 4:10 pm
  • Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (possibly until 4:30 p.m. for long term assignments)
  • Elective and small classes, as well as extended assignments, may be held on Wednesday afternoons until 4:30 pm.

The doors of the school are opened 15 minutes before school starts and closed 15 minutes after school ends. Parents picking up their children are not allowed to enter the school until the bell rings. 15 minutes after the end of classes, all students must go to the courtyard. The school is not responsible for any accidents that may occur outside the school grounds or outside of these hours.

Students who have received a green card with their parents' permission may go out.

ARTICLE 4: Access to the infirmary

The confidential medical form is important as it is useful in case of emergency and difficulties encountered in the child's learning.

We will make sure that the child's mandatory vaccinations are up to date.

It is important that parents keep their child at home in case of contagious diseases such as chicken pox... The return of the student to school is subject to the presentation of a medical certificate of recovery.

Parents agree to check their child's temperature daily and not to send them to school if it exceeds 37.8°. Any student showing cold and flu symptoms is asked to stay home.

The school infirmary provides first aid only. The school will contact the parent of any student who is ill to have the student picked up. However, the student must fill out and submit to the reception service the Individualized Reception Protocol (IAPwith the prescription and treatment to be dispensed.

Parents of students with special needs should meet with the principal and the CPE to set up a personalized follow-up.

Movements, interclasses and recreations

At intermission, students wait silently for the teacher in their classroom. Students are asked not to run or shout inside the buildings. At recess, students leave the classrooms to relax in the courtyard.  Play in the playground must not be violent or dangerous. Playing with balls is not allowed. After each recess, students will return to their classrooms in a calm manner to wait for their teacher.

ARTICLE 16: Transportation and Canteen

Before joining these different services, the parent must read and approve the rules.

ARTICLE 17: Communication

Parent involvement is essential to student success in both the academic and disciplinary areas. Therefore, parents are strongly encouraged to contact the teaching and administrative staff:

  • The reception service at any time during the opening hours of the establishment
  • Educational assistants, teachers, the principal and the head of the school by making an appointment at the reception desk.

They are required to be present at the meeting with the teaching staff organized at the end of each term.

It is the main link between the school and the family. It allows parents to justify their child's lateness, absences and physical education exemptions. Teachers note information about class life, remarks about the student's work and behavior, and requests for appointments.

The student must always have it in his possession; parents are asked to consult it every day. The correspondence booklet, circulars, memos and other notices given to students must be signed by the parents and returned to the school upon receipt.

Parents are responsible if they give out their code to their child for inappropriate use of their account.

IV. STUDENTS' RIGHTS

Students are guaranteed the rights of association, assembly and publication. However, they can only be exercised with the written authorization of the Director or the Management Coordinator.

Freedom of assembly

Meetings must be held outside of school hours; they must not infringe on the principle of neutrality with which schools must comply.

Freedom of association

The purpose of associations may not be political or religious in nature in view of the principles of neutrality and secularism. Only cultural, social, scientific and leisure activities are allowed. In case of breach, the Director invites the president of the association to comply. He may withdraw the authorization.

Freedom of publication

Students are free to publish and distribute their work in the school. The Head of the school may suspend or prohibit publication if certain writings are offensive or defamatory or seriously infringe on the rights of others or public order.

Consent

By enrolling their child in the Groupe Scolaire l'Ardoise, parents agree not only to follow their child's academic progress, but also to ensure that their child respects the school's internal rules.

I have read and understood the rules and I agree to respect them as soon as I enroll in the school. I am aware that failure to respect these rules will result in sanctions.
